LOCAL & GLOBAL MINISTRIES

We support dozens of local and international missions.  “Making a difference” can seem like too great a task for one person or one family.  But,  you can make a BIG difference in someone’s life just by joining forces with others that share your passion and vision.  All are welcome to join our many missions.  Whether it is feeding the homeless, getting blankets for those in need, backpack drives for school children, financial support for Woodhouse Adult Cerebral Palsy Center or doing mission work in other countries… the opportunities to serve are endless.

At The Pink Church,  WE are God’s hands.

Missions –   IncludesOutreach  / Homeless  /  International.   The purpose of the Missions Commission is to work to empower The Pink Church congregation to live out God’s call to care for those in need, both locally and globally.  The commission meets on the first Monday of every month, except during the summer months.  The Missions Commission seeks to achieve its goals by fulfilling and maintaining a relationship with the following ministries supported through the congregation of The Pink Church:

Commission members, with a quorum present, vote on which organizations will be supported and how funds will be disbursed during the fiscal year.  These organizations are chosen based on need and the organization’s reputation for being fiscally responsible towards its own mission.

The commission is able to support the following programs through the Esther Cooper Fund and through the generous financial support of the congregation:  One Great Hour of Sharing program, Alternative Giving, Dime-a-Dinner program, Christmas Home Tours, school supply collections, Hope Totes program, Blanket Sunday, Gleaning projects

BE A "GLEANER"!

Gleaning as a practice to combat hunger is thousands of years old.  In the Old Testament, gleaning was already in place at the writing of the Pentateuch (first five books).   Old Testament law required of property owners “when you harvest your land’s produce…don’t gather every remaining bit of your harvest.  Leave these items for the poor and the immigrant.” Leviticus 23:22 (CEB)

On the fourth Saturday of every month, volunteers from the Pink Church join other church and non-profit group volunteers organized by Christians Reaching Out to Society, Inc. (C.R.O.S. Ministries) to glean such crops as green peppers, tomatoes, and corn for local agencies with feeding programs for the homeless, working poor or low-income individuals and families.

Join us for a morning of fun, fresh air, and spiritual renewal.  These vital projects are sponsored by the Pink Church Mission Commission.  If you want to help or for more information, please call Randy or Marianne Shine at 954-428-4007.
