This year marks a significant moment in the life of the whole Christian Church:
the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
The Pink Church annually recognizes Reformation Sunday on the last Sunday of October commemorating the day
Martin Luther first made his 95 theses public in 1517, nailing them to the Wittenberg Church door.
His words propounded two central themes that sparked reform in the church:
the Bible is the sole authority for faith and religious practice, and salvation is a gift of God’s grace through faith.
As we honor this significant moment in history we give thanks for the renewing impulses unleashed by the Reformation,
repent of the ongoing brokenness and dividedness of Christ’s body, and look forward in hope to the healing and unity of God’s Church.

This year our commemoration will be particularly special because we are rededicating the full series of eight (8) Confessional Banners
that were lovingly crafted three decades ago by our long time member Marjorie Matthews and her late husband Robert (Bob).
So, on October 29th, 2017, this faith community will celebrate the foundational concepts of the Protestant faith,
as well as a tangible gift from the Matthews to our entire congregation. Join us for this joyous celebration!
