August 17 was absolutely a day to behold! From the opening song at 10 o’clock (we had one service!) with Donna Allen leading the fifty-voice choir down the main aisle in the sanctuary singing “Open the eyes of my heart…” until the last people left from eating lunch under the “big top” tent we had one grand celebration! It was one surprise after another! There were special awards given out in church, the mayor and city commissioners from both Pompano and Lighthouse Point were recognized, along with all the people who were instrumental in getting the building built. It was such a day! Such a day – with stilt-walkers, clowns, a steel drummer, lunch, and tours of the new building – it was such a day!

Enjoying-the-day!

There were old people and young people, children and youth, teachers and students, and the presence of God was experienced. It was such a day! If you missed it, enjoy pictures. Be on the lookout for a similar day in December. And don’t miss this time! Because if you do, you’ll miss an important time in the life of this faith-community , and you’ll miss an important day in your own life!
God bless!
